A Message from our President Eve Edmond, MDiv, MS, LMFT

I listen to the radio every morning. Before I turn it on I say to myself, “I wonder what disaster has happened today.” Before going to sleep, I check my cell to see if any disasters have occurred since I last heard the news. This morning, 5/25/18, there was another incident. How long since the last one? Friday, one week ago. The one before that? Friday, one week ago. We go through the same ritual as always. Prayers, thoughts, crisis counselors. In 12-step programs I’ve heard people say, “Nothing changes if nothing changes”. What will it take? To paraphrase Bob Dylan, How many deaths will it take ‘til we know that too many people have died? The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind. The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

Beth Fitzpatrick, EAP Manager for CHLA, and our Board Secretary, arranged it all! It was not to be missed!!! It was an amazing, heartfelt, and utterly delightful, enlightening meeting about the miraculous work this hospital does for children and their families. Below are some photos from that day...
