GREAT APPETIZERS, RAFFLES AND GIVEAWAYS, PLUS NETWORKING

Organizational engagement and satisfaction survey after survey shows that 65 -75 percent of the employees typically report that the worst aspect of their job is their immediate boss. Estimates of the base rate for managerial incompetence in organizations at all levels range from 30 percent to 75 percent and a recent review reported the average estimate to be 50 percent (Kaiser & Hogan, 2010).

Current research confirms that working for a competent jerk increases risk for absenteeism, job burnout, psychological distress, social pain and physical illness. Newer findings even suggest that working for a toxic boss may be an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

Today, talent don’t leave organizations—they leave bad bosses. This presentation will present evidence based research on the impact of how leaders impact the psychological climate and its relationship to talent retention, productivity, engagement and health.
